A cellulose acetate is a negative or positive, photo reproduced on a transparent support that replaces since the Twenties, the highly flammable nitrate. Andy Warhol in 1975 created this series of cellulose acetates, later becoming screenprints, by shooting the Drag queens of the New York nightclub The Gilden Grape.
Besides this project, there are unpublished pieces showing Warhol' friends that haven't missed the chance to be immortalized by the great pop artist.
