In this card Warhol reinterprets one of his most popular subjects, the Campbell's soup can, become one of the symbols of mass consumerism and Pop vision of society, with an unprecedented representation that shows the label torn from the metal.

Andy Warhol upset the rules of painting: according to his vision, the task of art was no longer to invent something new but to  reach everyone, from the president of the United States to the common housewife. For this reason he chooses and repeats endlessly subjects taken from the mass media, from consumer products such as Coca-Cola, to the icons of the American society of the time such as Elvis and the beautiful Marilyn. By subtracting them from Hollywood's aura, through the technique of serigraphy, Warhol tries to start a process of democratization of art.
