In this screen printing the subject is the Palace of Reichstag, one of the best known symbols of Berlin: it’s incredible how a pubblic “object”, public both for its funcion and for its use (architecture is pubblic beacuse is visible to everyone, so belongs to everyone), loses its symbolic worh in this picture, and becomes the subject of an intimate and lyrical vision of the artist. Berlin is discovered and immortalized on the polaroid surface, in a way that is always diferent: from the spectacularisation of the great Galimberti’s mosaics, to this incredible intimacy, reproduced always by the same medium, the photography and with the same subject, Berlin.
Screen printing signed and numbered in original, edition of 5, with the foundation's stamp. The artwork's archive number is 8633. The gallery gives an authenticity certificate with the screen printing. This artwork is pubblished on the catalogue Maurizio Galimberti, Berlino by Walter Guadagnini.
Maurizio Galimberti was born in 1956 in Como. He is an italian famous artist and photographer. While he was very young, he develops a passion for photography and begins to participate to severals contests.
At first he uses the analogic photographic film, but then he passes to polaroids, to see immediatly the results of his pics, without waiting.

In 1995 is published the book “Polaroid Pro Art” and in 1997 his polaroid mosaics enter in the art collection. The technique used by Galimberti has been influenced by Boccioni and Duchamp, and consists in doing a collage of polaroids each one with a diferent particular of the same image to portrait. The differnt polaroids are then bring closer to recreate the image into a collage.
He creates portraits of celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Robert de Niro and Johnny Depp. The turning point is when Galimberti meets the collector Fumagalli, because thanks to him the artist can begin to expose in international cities, like Venice, Berlin and New York, of which he created some beautiful portfolio.
