The artwork is a dyptic formed by two canvas of the same size. the subjects is mytological, and describe the myth of Uranus and Gaia, narrated by Hesiod on the theogony. Uranus, worried to be dethroned by his sons, put them in the Tartarus. Gaia, horrified by this gesture, incites his youngest son, Chrono to rebel against his father. Chrono with the sickle given by his mother emasculates Uranus and releases his brothers and sisters the titans.
